Extensive EU project subsidies for the Nanostart-holding ItN Nanovation AG

Saarbrücken / Frankfurt am Main – 11 September 2009 The Nanostart-holding ItN Nanovation AG (ISIN DE000A0JL461) will play a part with a German DAX comapany as the only German nanotechnology company in the international Henix (Enhanced Nano-fluid Heat Exchange) project.

Henix is a multinational project of 12 partners from Europe and Israel that has the aim to develop new coolants based on nano-particle dispersion. They are to have superior characteristics when compared with conventional coolants with regard to efficiency, performance and ecological assessment. The project that is starting now is planned for around 3 years and is subsidised extensively by funds from the European Union. The project resources for ItN Nanovation are in the six-digit Euro region. The next generation of coolants could be used for cooling server rooms, data processing centres and in the fields of electronics, transport and air conditioning. ItN Nanovation is responsible for upscaling and the planned technical production of the nano-fluid (fluids with the addition of nano-particles) for the Henix project.

Dr. Ralph Nonninger, chairman of ItN Nanovation explains: "The fact that we were chosen for this project shows the international regard for our expertise in nanotechnology. We also have the possibility to enter another economic and ecological application field of nanotechnology at an early stage. In addition, we expand our knowledge and are supported by EU funds."

Marco Beckmann, chairman of Nanostart AG, adds: "By taking part in this project, ItN Nanovation does not just benefit from additional finances. It is proof that ItN is the innovation leader in the field of nanotechnology. Shoulder to shoulder with large corporations, our holding can continue to develop its outstanding know-how for effective nano-fluids. We are convinced that ItN Nanovation AG has a great future."
