Frenchs Forrest, Australia / Heimerdingen, Germany / Frankfurt – February 20, 2008 – Sports technology provider Holmenkol, a portfolio company of Frankfurt-based Nanostart AG, announced that it has entered into an agreement for distribution and collaborative product development with the Australian company Nanovations Pty Ltd. The objective of the partnership is the development and promotion of highly innovative coating solutions for new markets. Under the agreement, Holmenkol will receive the exclusive worldwide rights to distribute all sports-related products and developments.

Harry Stulajter, CEO of Nanovations Pty Ltd, expressed his excitement about the new partnership, adding that “Holmenkol is a world-renowned company with enormous future potential in the sector of innovative sport coatings.” The environmentally friendly and effective solutions from Nanovation are already being used in building and construction related applications. In cooperation with Holmenkol scientists, selected products will now be adapted for use in the sports and leisure markets.

The first highlight of the cooperation is a new marine teak protection product, Wood Protector, which offers extremely strong UV protection. Further innovative product solutions will follow.

The first of these new products to be offered through the Holmenkol worldwide distribution network will target the aquatic sports, racing and yachting markets. The range of these revolutionary care and performance products will include sail coatings, fitting lubricants, anti-friction treatments, high-tech gel coating and hull treatments, wood protection products, and cleaners. The performance-enhancing marine coatings are already in use by America’s Cup teams.
